NOTES
- Ballasalley
 - John McYlrea was the only son of John McYlrea who died in 1699, aged 35. He was 17 when his father died. His grandfather Martin McYlrea had died 18 months previously
 - John's mother was Elizabeth Bridson who settled the family estate on him in 1718, by which time he had already left the Island. He was a tailor in Dublin and evidently did not return permanently to the Isle of Man
 - His sister Ellin (Elinor) married John Callister in 1722
 - His mother died in 1726
 - John's departure to Ireland, and his sale of his family's estate, marked the end of this line of Malew Mylrea, barely 100 years after his grandfather Martin McYlrea was born
 - This sale had to be revisited in 1736 because John's wife, Elizabeth, had not been a signatory to the original sale document. An identical Bill of Sale was executed with a preamble explaining the reason for the new document
 - William Stole the purchaser might also be the William Stole who bought Charles Mylrea's Creggans in 1740 and later provided large mortgages in 1744 & 1747 to Charles jnr whose financial situation was precarious
 - There is much about the Malew Mylreas of the 1600s and early 1700s that does not hang together so extreme caution must be exercised
