Know all men by these presents that Daniel Mylroie of the parish of Castletown and Jane his wife for and in consideration of the sum of six pounds to him the said Daniel Mylroie paid by Robert Kinley of the town of Douglas, stone cutter, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have given, granted, bargained, sold and conveyed and by these presents do give, grant, bargain, and forever absolutely sell and convey unto the said Robert Kinley all and singular the right, title and interest of them the said Daniel Mylroie and Jane Mylroie his wife of, in and unto all and singular a small old cottage being Intack or cottage property situate in Minorca near Laxey known as old Tom Stowell’s house or cottage bounded on the south and south-east by the public highway and by the north and north-east by the estate of Ballaquilleash the property of Mr James Quilleash being the whole of the premises purchased by the said Daniel Mylroie from William Stowell (commonly called Sewell) by Deed of Sale bearing date on the 11th May 1874 to have and to hold the same and every part thereof with all appurtenances to the same belonging or appertaining unto the said Robert Kinley, his heirs and assigns from the day of the date hereof forever, he the said Robert Kinley, his heirs and assigns henceforth yielding and paying the Lord’s Rent and all other charges annually incumbent thereon and the said Daniel Mylroie doth hereby covenant to and with the said Robert Kinley that he hath not done any act, matter or thing whereby to injure the title to the said premises acquired by him by the said Deed of the 11th May 1874.   2. Daniel Mylroie was the son of David Mylroie jnr & Catherine Quayle, and baptised in 1805
  3. Daniel married Mary Ann Teare in Patrick in 1829, and they had 8 children although only 3 daughters and 1 son were mentioned in Daniel's will
    • John 1830, a builder, married Sarah Ball. He died a few days after his father
    • Mary Ann 1833, had a child out of wedlock, married James Lawson, a miner
    • Ann, no baptismal record, 1836ish married Robert Corlett, a miner
    • Thomas 1840-1855
    • Margaret 1841
    • Catherine 1842, married Joseph Cannell, a miner
    • Lenora 1844
    • Isabella 1845-1849
  4. After Mary Ann died in 1871, Daniel remarried, to Jane Lowry March 10, 1874 in Castletown
  5. He was still in Castletown when he executed this Deed of Sale in April 1874
  6. Daniel was a shoemaker by trade but did very well in his business life. He had properties and was a money lender
  7. The perplexing aspect of this Deed is that Daniel's putative purchase of Old Tom Stowell's collage (11th May) took place after its sale (5th April) from Daniel to Robert Kinley, according to the dates in the document
